Professional and Academic English Program

This is an intensive, 5-week program developed by the ELI for international students planning to attend graduate programs in the US (for example, Graduate School for Public and International Affairs) or be involved in an organization working with the US in a professional capacity. The program immerses students in culture and language beneficial to those in academic and professional environments. Classes will meet for five hours a day, four days a week. Program size is limited to 15 students.

Dates: June 23 through July 25, 2008

Application deadline: May 10, 2008 for students who need an I-20 (Click the appropriate link for document type: pdf format; word document; html format) (If you need a visa, we encourage you to apply as early as possible to avoid delays.)

Pre-registration will be accepted by fax, with payment due on or before May 10, 2008

Tuition: $2,250 (Plus fees - click here for required fee information)

Note: $500 nonrefundable deposit for the Professional & Academic English Program

This program uses a variety of professional and academic content as the basis for English language classes. Content includes readings from journals and textbooks, videotaped lectures of actual classes, research paper and report requirements, and work with librarians.
