Arrival in Pittsburgh

Spring 2021: Travel to Pittsburgh

Due to Covid-19, beginning January 26, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will require all passengers who enter the U.S. to present a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 3 calendar days of departure, or proof of recovery from the virus within the last 90 days. Airlines will deny the boarding of passengers who do not provide documentation of a negative test or recovery. In addition, Pennsylvania is requiring all travelers who are entering Pennsylvania from another U.S. state or another country to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering Pennsylvania or to self-quarantine for 10 days upon entry into Pennsylvania. The ELI has planned for this and will present all classes remotely until at least January 26, 2021 so that students are able to meet these requirements. On January 26, the ELI will follow University and government guidelines to assess the conditions related to COVID-19 in our area and determine if it is safe to move to the Flex@Pitt, a hybrid model of instruction that includes some in-person classes. Classes may remain remote at that time, or they may move to the hybrid model if conditions allow for it. Please check University of Pittsburgh COVID Updates and Announcements regularly for the most current information.
